हिंदीचा विसर पडू लागला आहे Hindi’s Gradual Decline in its Prominence

पूर्वी जवळपास सर्व मनोरंजन हे केवळ हिंदी भाषेतच उपलब्ध होते. परंतु पुढील काळात खाजगी मराठी दूरदर्शन वाहिन्या सुरू झाल्यानंतर पुष्कळ लोक मराठी कार्यक्रम पाहू लागले. हळूहळू मराठी चित्रपट, गाणी यांचे प्रमाण वाढले. त्यानंतर समाजमाध्यमातूनही लोक मराठी मधून व्यक्त होऊ लागले. मागील काही वर्षांत युट्युबवर पुष्कळ मराठी वाहिन्या सुरू झालेल्या आहेत. मराठी पॉडकास्टची आता त्यात चांगली भर पडलेली आहे. त्यामुळे पूर्वीच्या तुलनेत मराठी प्रेक्षकांचा पुष्कळसा वेळ हा मराठी ऐकणे, वाचणे, बोलणे याकडे वळला आहे.

यात माझा स्वतःचा अनुभव आणि निरीक्षण असे आहे की एकीकडे हिंदीचे आक्रमण वाढत आहे असे जरी वाटत असले, तरी दुसरीकडे हिंदी भाषेचा विसरही पडू लागलेला आहे. अगदी मुंबईत राहणाऱ्या मराठी नेत्यांना देखील पूर्वीच्या तुलनेत आजकाल व्यवस्थित हिंदी बोलता येत नाही आणि त्याचा न्यूनगंडही त्यांना आधीप्रमाणे राहिलेला नाही. जे हिंदी वातावरणात वावरतात किंवा ज्यांना स्वतःला हिंदीची आवड आहे त्यांचा अनुभव कदाचित वेगळा असेल. परंतु सध्याच्या परिस्थितीत तरी एकाचवेळी दोन्ही गोष्टी घडताना दिसत आहेत. एकीकडे हिंदीचे पेवही फुटले असल्याचे भासत आहे, तर दुसरीकडे हिंदीचा विसरही पडू लागलेला आहे.

Earlier, almost all entertainment was available only in Hindi. However, over time, with the launch of private Marathi television channels, many people began watching Marathi programs. Gradually, the number of Marathi movies and songs increased. Subsequently, social media also became a platform where people started expressing themselves in Marathi. Over the past few years, numerous Marathi channels have emerged on YouTube, and now Marathi podcasts have also gained significant traction. As a result, compared to earlier times, a considerable portion of Marathi audiences now dedicate their time to listening, reading, and speaking in Marathi.

From my personal experience and observations, it seems that while there is a perception of increased Hindi dominance, on the other hand, the prominence of Hindi is also gradually fading. For instance, even Marathi leaders residing in Mumbai seem to speak Hindi less fluently than before, and the inferiority complex associated with this is no longer as prevalent. Those who operate in a predominantly Hindi environment or have a personal affinity for Hindi might have a different experience. However, in the current scenario, two contrasting trends are evident: on one hand, there appears to be an overwhelming influx of Hindi, while on the other hand, there is a gradual decline in its prominence.
